About Geek Cowboy

Updated on

Geek Cowboy helps first-time buyers choose a home 3D printer and get good prints from it. We write for homeowners, DIYers and retirees who want a useful new hobby, not a weekend of tinkering.

Every guide is written by our small editorial team. There is no single named author, and we don't make or sell printers.

What we cover

Our guides cover starter 3D printers, multicolor, fast and large-format models, resin printers for fine detail, and the filament, dryers and wash stations that go with them. We also answer the setup questions and print problems most new owners run into.

We compare models from brands like Bambu Lab, Flashforge, Creality, Elegoo and Anycubic side by side. That way you can see the real trade-offs before you spend.

How we work

We read the specs, features and maker information for every product we cover. We also look at the patterns in what owners report after months of use.

Then we turn that into plain picks, comparisons and how-to answers. Our How we research page has the details.

What we don't do

We don't claim to have tested every printer ourselves. When we recommend one, we tell you why, based on its specs, its features and buyer feedback.

We aren't affiliated with Bambu Lab, Flashforge, Creality, Elegoo, Anycubic or any other maker. No brand pays us to rank its products.

How the site earns money

Some links go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never decides which products we pick. Our affiliate disclosure explains how it works.
